Secure housing provides peace of mind to pets and groomers

Keeping pets secure during the grooming process is important for your well-being as well as the pet’s safety. Shor-Line specializes in keeping even the most fractious dog secure in our legendary Stainless Steel cages.

Stainless Steel kennels are a great investment. They provide decades of service and are easy to clean. Standard cages are sold at 6” width increments, starting at 18” wide. Standard cage heights are 24”, 30” and 36” high. All cages are 28¼” deep.

Most groomers purchase a bank or two of cages. These can be inset into a wall or set on a mobile or stationary platform. The mobile unit provides the best flexibility because it allows for easy relocation either inside the business or across town.

The most popular cage banks are the 4’ Assembly, Option B, and the 6’ Assembly, Option A. Both of these units have small cages on top and larger cages below. There are many ways to use standard cages (for best price) to configure your ideal cage bank. Ask for a FREE consultation. Our cage configurator can help you configure a cage and send it to us for quoting.

To aid the drying process after pets move back into the cage for waiting, we recommend PVC Coated Cage Floors that lift the pet about 2¼” off the cage floor. PVC holes let residual moisture drain through.

As an alternative to Stainless Steel cages, some customers use our Plastic Cages that we make as a one piece, rotationally molded polyethylene. It is slightly tapered (part of the molding process), so research listed specs if exact cubic space is a concern. The polyethylene material resists stains and can tolerate both the dampness associated with bathing and grooming as well as industry standard cleaning chemicals.

The doors and hardware are Stainless Steel. A lip is molded in to catch urine or spills.

Most groomers pair the kennels with PVC-coated wire floors and high-impact pans for easy cleanup.

There are four options for Plastic Cage assemblies—2-Unit, 3-Unit, 4-Unit and 6-Unit. The assemblies are a mixture of medium (24¼”W) and large (48½”W) cages.

For groomers expanding to include feline grooming, you will need a dedicated cage bank for felines. Investing in a mobile 4’ assembly gives you options for moving the unit to an alternative, quiet location for feline holding. Don’t forget to clean and remove the canine scent!
