The autoclave drying cycle is almost as important as the sterilization cycle. Instruments not intended for immediate use must be wrapped for storage and must remain sterile until they are introduced to the patient. Packs and pouches must be dry before they are removed from the autoclave so they can seal properly and maintain the sterility of the instruments. A problem may arise if packs are removed wet or damp, as moisture can “wick” contaminants through the packs and compromise the sterility of the instruments within. Wet packs are also more prone to tear or puncture. With the Tuttnauer Automatic Autoclave, EZ10 you may put yourself at ease.
